I will miss traveling up the road to visit darling oldest daughter at college! We visited her this weekend and I thought to share some of the pics I took!

Such beauty!
Sherry Goshon is one of my favorite artist and I peek at her blog daily to see what she is up to. Today she is starting a 5 day challenge on her blog
http://sherrygoshon.blogspot.com/2009/11/doing-5-day-challenge.html
Sherry, I hope it is okay with you if I tag along with you on this challenge as well. A couple years ago, I did some sun painting of some white Kona fabric. Sooooo....
DAY 1 Altered fabric ..... You can treat it, dye it, applique it.. This fabric was treated with
pebeo soile purple and blue paint and then sundried. When it was almost
dry, using a dry brush and the blue paint, I made some swirls. I really like it!
Blog hopping is one of my favorite pastimes! (by-product of computer) grin...
There is a great new online fabric store! You simply must stop by and take a a look at Lindsay's and Charlies's new store, HAWTHORNE THREADS! They have beautiful fabrics and great prices!!! Please click on the title OR click on the Hawthorne Threads button on the sidebar of the blog! Happy shopping!
Remember that feet photo on Halloween? Well, they belong to Pumpkin, an odd swap doll who has reached her destination and is with her new Momma in CA. Karen likes her!!! WHOOHOOOOO! I can now post a picture of her.
Here she is standing showing off her dress! The dress fabric is Arabella by Pat Sloan...
Here is Pumpkin taking a picture with Monkey (made by Karen)!
It doesn't seem that so long ago, but time just does fly along. One day she was making her stand with a mother goose and now ... well, now she is a beautiful young woman ... twenty-one today! Happy birthday baby! I am sooooo proud of you!
C-R-A-F-T yahoo group has a couple Christmas swaps going on. Unfortunately, I'm unable to participate in the really neat one where we make a giftie for each letter of the word CHRISTMAS! so I'm doing an odd swap with Karen Mallory http://karensdollsandstuff.blogspot.com/. I picked up my package this morning and this little guy was inside! SURPRISED!!!! Yes, I sure am...and darned if I can figure what is odd about a monkey (big wide grin on my face) in the cutest Christmas outfit and waving a candy cane! Wouldn't that just be so much fun, Christmas morning to be greeted with a barrel of monkeys? LOL! Well, the children are growing older and soon they won't wake me up (after just closing my eyes...lol) waving toys and yelling with excitement... I'm going to miss those days! But, they aren't gone yet! I am looking forward to CHRISTMAS! THANK YOU KAREN! What a wonderful SURPRISE! lol! He is sooooooooooo darned cute! Thank you for all the other gifties and my squishie!!!! I feel blessed!
Isn't he adorable and cute! love that outfit!

Here he is ... sitting in the middle of my loot! thanks Karen!
Finally, I'm able to post the arrival of my swap partner's bag...Terri, thank you very much and I hope you continue to recover! Thanks for the little goodies that came along with my bag. I love the pinkeep and tape measure!
Alright, I know, we haven't celebrated Thanksgiving yet! LOL! We will, but while we are waiting and just to get you in the mood, there is blog hopping to be done. There are group of 12 artist/quilters you're gonna want to visit starting November 9 - Gudrun will kick-off the blog hop from her blog. Please click on the title and hop over to her blog and read all about the twelve designers and prizes! Happy Hopping!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Here she comes... Just a sneak peek! muh hahaha!
WHOOHOOO! HOORAY! My swap partner Terri likes it! Well if you are a purple lover, how could you help but like it? LOL! Here is an original design front and back made for the Bagstobragabout yahoo group Fall Swap...

A look inside..... all purple...

Took stips of blues and purples and sewed them into a strata for the back section. If you look closely, it has been quilted with a design to mimi the wonderful floral design in the batik fabric. Sitting on top of the bag is a cute little wallet change purse.
VOILA! The front design! Another finished gift!
Tragedy strikes in the twinkling of an eye and I believe there is enough tragedy to go around for us all. Just last month I read a story of a doll artist who has fallen on hard times due to medical bills, not covered by insurance. (I submitted the winning bid on a doll to help raise funds to help the artist) It seems insurance companies cover healthy individuals only! But, I digress; recently a tragic work injury that caused serious bodiy injury ripped apart the daily routine of a young family and of course, I want to do my part by donating a quilt block. Laurie, at a
yankeequilter.blogspot.com is collecting the donated blocks, and has all the information on her blog regarding the block collection and a giveaway!

Welcome ...
I've no idea as to what I am doing, but I will do it in a grand style!!!
