MERRY,MERRY...HAPPY, HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!

HOORAY!!!! The long awaited day has finally dawned....and I mean dawned....my children were up before the sun!!!! Okay, it is always worth it though to see the happy smiles!!! They received in abundance! As I write this I can hear my son cranking up his new electric guitar....happy and my 15 yo daughter is playing her new CDs....oldest daughter has gone back to sleeping....and the air is full of the aroma of a slow-baking turkey in the oven....All is well with the world....May the blessings of this season fill the entire world....Christmas huggggs around.....

African Quilters Holiday Postcard Exchange

Yesterday's deadline for mailing the postcards came and went...those little buggers went out today! I went to my mailbox today and found a gift...thank you Jeanette for the wrapped presents....lol....the card is beautiful and I love it...hopefully I can get the pic posted...
Other news: no progress on the mystery quilt ... still playing Santa....I shop early in the morning just after store opening to avoid the crowds. Hubby has been quite patient and understanding and shopping with him is actually fun. I was not looking forward to shopping because of my injury....I tire easily and walking, looking, lifting "stuff" off hangers and looking through clothing and toys can be be very painful....but we got through yet another day. After the shopping excursions, I am no good for anything else....heh, heh, heh......soooooooon it will be all over! Looking forward to the children's reactions to their Santa stash!!!!!

Oh My.... Slow Day.....

Today, I was preoccupied with Christmas shopping....later I perused the net and got lost in others' beautiful blogs and well not much happening here in the sewing corner! I am still working on those 9 patch blocks of Step 2 of the mystery quilt...and then I saw....more 9 patch blocks for step 3....sigh, okay I'll get it done...but I must finish quilting DD's quilt before she comes home for winter break! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better sewing day, as I have much to get done now that I have decided to make purses for my girlfriend's daughters...hope they like my quirky designs...maybe a Lazygirl "Gracie"...maybe or something I design...we will see....the path of least resistance....

PAY IT FORWARD EXCHANGE!!

Last week, I met Khristina in Quiltvillechat@yahoo.com , a yahoo group dedicated to the Caroline Crossroads Mystery Quilt and while perusing her blog http://sewprimkhris.blogspot.com/ I found an interesting item called "Pay It Forward Exchange". She promises to send a gift to the first 3 people who leave comments on her blog requesting to join the Pay It Forward Exchange....sooooo I decided to join.....I will send a handmade gift to the FIRST 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PAY IT FORWARD EXCHANGE. I don't know what the gift will be and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but it will be within 365 days....that is my promise. All I ask of you in return is "PAY IT FORWARD" by making the same promise on your blog

Quirks and Mistakes Disclaimer

Sorry, I just don't know what I am doing...this site is under construction...lol..lol...just bear with me...I am attempting to
post the pic for the Mystery Quilt...heavens....

WHY WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR?

Since I have a xanga, I thought that I would just wait until the first of 2008 and set up this blog. Well, I am a member of stashbusters@yahoo.com and while perusing the site last week I came across an item from Bonnie Hunter who is a quilting phenom....she is in the middle of a jammed packed life and she decided to add a mystery quilt to her endeavors and she invited the rest of the world to sew along with her. Well the group has grown to about 1000 members and a suggestion that we sew and post to our blogs has spurred me on to set up this site now. Whewwww, what a time I am having doing so. I guess that it is not so difficult as time consuming....soooo I will try to post daily.....lol..... Now having said all that, must get back to sewing those little blocks....thanks Bonnie for the opportunity to participate in your mystery.....anyone in the world who doesn't already know....go NOW (hehehe) to http://www.quiltville.com/ and get hooked on some wonderful quilts!!!
