Joan Hawley owner of LazygirlDesigns and designer extroidenaire issued a challenge in Feb... A March Madness Miranda Challenge! We were to make as many mirandas as we wished and post the pics for a drawing. Well, I finally finished my first Miranda and is really pretty. A friend of mind called me over for a visit last month and while there she opened up her stash to me. Let me tell you, it was quite a haul! Thank you Diane!! This is the first of many projects using your beautiful "stack and wack" blocks. I added some of my red batik fabric and a black/white print and voila! my first Miranda! YEAH....now on to the next project finish and a new start on the Orange Crush! Wait....wait, I've got a tree to finish! lol....

Creativedawn... it is light and another day....
I must admit that most of my time has been spent with family, sleeping, and not much sewing. There is soooo much to do: With Deb Karasik and Janet Mednick, authors of QuiltMavens: Perfect Paper Piecing, DebKarasikQuilts, (yahoo group) started our Tree RR a couple months ago....here is a pic the first tree...I am working on another and will pass it to the next member of our group. At Beth Ferrier's group Appleboms we started the 2008 BOM, Pinwheels and Posies; Joan Hawley designer/quilter of LazyGirlDesigns issued a March challenge which I am working on right now!!! Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville has given us the next Mystery Quilt fabric choices and strip cutting instructions so we can begin on April 1....EUREKA! YEAH!! WHOOHOO!!! The beautiful fabric on order arrived today, a week earlier than promised....I just love Hancocks-Paducah Fabrics!! Fantastic purple for Bonnie's Orange Crush... my "Purple Crush"! Must get it started, but first I have to thank all these very talented ladies for sharing their art with me (us).... I have really grown with each project. A couple years ago, I would not do paper piecing...nothing like a change of the mind!

It's been two weeks....waaa,waaaa.... my ear is not aching anymore, but I still have the pressure and cannot hear! Alright, I've been working on my CC and making some progress and when I get to "Flimsey", will post picture! Meanwhile, I can now post the pics of the "Pindoll" Swap which I participated at Blackclothdollart@yahoogroups.com. My partner and doll artist Martha Dudley sent me the gorgeous doll pin wearing her hand-beaded headband....how exquisite! I sent her the "lady in the hat".... I crocheted the little hat...I don't crochet! lol, lol... Still working on my other swaps...bit by bit!

VERTIGO!!!!
It comes on suddenly and without warning.... one minute I am standing and the next I am reaching, grabbing onto something, anything to hold onto so I don't fall on my "keyster". This past week has been horrible...but through it all the family was very supportive. Right now we are a one-car family and the only person working is the DH (still fighting for disability)sooooo I have to drive DD, DS, to and from school and DH to and from train station...I have been blessed that there was only one incident while driving...I guess the motion of the car messed up the already imbalance in the ear. That day I was riding to DH's job (he overslept);-); it took a half hour to get there and when I got out the car to get behind the wheel, wow the world just swung around me....didn't fall, managed to hold onto the car and get into the seat...drove I95 in the driving rain just telling myself to concentrate on what I see...ignore the ears! Ears are very important and I hope this malady clears soon. That's my story and I am sticking to it! Now, I am a member of blackclothdollart@yahoogroups.com and we are having a doll pin swap. I received mine from doll artist, Martha Dudley. It is sooooo beautiful and I felt really self-conscious about my entry, so I made another. I will mail it tomorrow and will post the pic after she receives it. I hope you like her Martha!!!

ICK!!! YACK!
I cannot say much because I have a horrible earache.....yesterday, I received a beautiful doll pin from Martha Dudley, a published doll artist in a swap...boy oh boy....(will post pic later) Now, as happy as I was to receive that gorgeous piece of art, I was stricken with self-consciousness about my doll pin... immediately started on another...so between this ear and trying to measure up...really busy here.....rest my ear for a few (can't get to DR until tomorrow):0 then work on my almost completed doll pin...grin, she looks better than the other! Going to sleep for awhile....sigh....phew, this pain is not good.... gotta smile, can't cry; what would the kids think? phew!
