BACK TO COLLEGE

Earlier today our darling college junior returned to school! The family helped move in the last of the "stuff". This was a two day event and that explains why Dad is sitting down on the job today!!! lol....he works hard, that man!

Old Tobacco Road....A new MYSTERY from Bonnie Hunter!

As she promised Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.com is hosting a new mystery and yes with all the other things that need doing....I am doing this as well. Bonnie, thank you very much for taking time from your very busy schedule to host another MYSTERY QUILT! It is called Old Tobacco Road..... clicking on the title will take you straight to Part 1 instructions. These are my fabric choices. I remember every summer when I was a kid, helping my grandfather plant tobacco.... I remember the color of the earth, the plowing and the injector "thingy"! The smoke shack had tobacco hanging from the rafters.... yes Bonnie, you have taken me on a little trip down memory lane...so how could I miss out on the chance to make a quilt in all the colors that I recall? I cannot!!!! lol.... So far I have sewn the strips!

Group Swap!

Sooo, okay I swapped with Cindy and here's what I sent her.....

Gift Exchange

In case anyone is wondering, I did finish a little something for my good friend, Jeannie and here are those pictures....the pics are not the greatest because the camera malfunctioned and I had to resort to the cellphone...what WOULD we all do without technology!!!

SWAPS

Swaps are a place where we can spread our creativity about the country...heck the world even. I spend a considerable time blog hopping and absolutely love reading about others' lives and viewing their creativity....just an awesome way to spend any day! A couple months ago, while blog hopping, I happened upon a site with some really beautiful purses; turned out to be Jackie's Designs (click the link). When you go to her site, you will see some awesome beautiful purses....not only does she make purses, she also makes and sells the patterns! She has an online group, which you should join, lol.... My memory fails me here, because somehow during this same time period, I joined a group of ladies at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SewingPursesForFun and there I saw this one lady make purse after purse. At first I didn't join in the swaps, but after seeing the creativity there, I could not resist! I did not get this one lady as a swap partner! Oh well, still I watched as she posted her pics; Now mind you, she also joined lazygirldesigns, Joan Hawley's yahoo group. Jeannie is bigger than life on all the groups as she is very creative and makes tons of purses. I just couldn't take it anymore, so I contacted her privately and arranged a swap with her. Long story short... Jeannie you are extraordinary! Thank you. Here are pictures of the wonderful gifts she made for me!!!!!

The Ongoings this August 1!

First day of August.... we continue to ready ourselves for new beginnings....junior in college (spending summer working at school); junior in high school (who is finishing her summer projects-writing her own book); freshman in high school!!! Yes, my baby celebrated his 14th year July 27... Wow, the time has flown. It was just 3 years ago that my oldest began college and I got to tell you that I spent the first day boo hooing all over the place. Her sister was at school balling her eyes out and my son, well he never admitted to crying at school, but I am betting he had a tear or two as well....lol... So much time has passed since then and I am actually looking forward to all their successes (is that a word?) Just cannot believe that my baby is in high school now! Wow... Okay quilty things.... am designing a new purse and will not post pics until my friend receives it! Hope she likes it! Am going to start a new quilt...gulp...will post fabrics later today or early tomorrow! Let me see...to be continued...life calling...lol..
