It all started when I admired another doll artist's victorian doll! A very talented artist....she directed me to a Victorian Doll group... OF COURSE I JOINED! What did you expect.... The current project is to make a doll from the early 1900s ... This is a dry run.... I repeat a dry run and you'll see why ... don't think I'm actually supposed to post the picture as it is something of a contest involved....heh hehheh..... there will be no competition from me on this. I spent the past week looking at pictures of people from the early 1900s ... dolls from the era....lots of gorgeous dolls.... Okay ... without further ado.....lol....
I painted her head (in keeping with the style) ... this is the back and it was done without my favorite and best paint brush.... I used the black as a base and attempted to make curls using the contrasting brown..... lol... go ahead, we are laughing together..... think I need MORE practice, eh!
Here is my girl sitting down ... I made her so that she would sit.....
....and her face closeup.....hand drawn using gel pen and prisma pencils.....
This is my first attempt at this type doll and I've not put the last clear coat on her head yet....tomorrow and then to see about her outfit...something simple...a homespun dress and an apron should do it.....maybe painted on socks and shoes....?
hmmmmmmmm
