bUiLDIng HoUsEs fROm sCRapS ! ! !

This process is making me crazy...yes it is.   Back around the first of February, I happened upon Jeanneke's blog Building Houses from Scraps and saw the tiniest group of houses!  So cute!  I downloaded the house block and set out to make the block.  It was just waaay toooo small!  3 1/2 inch blocks is tiny for 11 ... yep, eleven pieces!!!  So with an enlarged pattern, I set out hand-sewing the block together. It was wonky to say the least and I just didn't like it.  A few days later it occurred to me that I should put that EQ7 program to good use and drew the block,  printed the 3 1/2 inch foundation blocks to paper piece.  Anyone can paper piece a small block, right?  Well, yes one can,  but it is very time consuming to say the least.  Anyhoo, here is one complete block and one house block so far.... Oh did I forget to mention that this is a year project to celebrate leap year?  So make that 2 down and 364 houses to build!!!!  ROFL!

 One of Jeanneke's blocks

My first attempt ... I cannot find the result of my effort, but will post a picture of it when it is located.....snicker.....
My paper piece pattern and the first two houses!
Kinda small, eh?

May all your quilting project be ... well, be large enough for you to at least SEE the pieces!

WOW! I love these little house blocks but I had no idea how small they really are. I cannot imagine so many pieces in a 3 1/2 inch block. I am struggling with my 6 1/2 inch FW blocks. Happy quilting...
