MYSTERY QUILT

Hello All!
Lot's of things are going on around here lately.  Older daughter is working full time and  other daughter has returned for her junior year at college and finally the son has started his freshman year at college about 400 miles away.  So we are busy running around for family day and this past weekend rowing as the son is on the crew team...more about that later along with pictures!

The real reason for this post is to let everyone know about Heather Spence and her quest to raise money for donations that will be donated to folks battling cancer, to aid in them affording the high and rising costs of battling cancers.  We all want to do what we can.  I know I do.  So please click on the beautiful flower provided by Heather and go on over to her blog...read about it and  join us.

What's on My Table?

Are you ever just taken in by the sheer beauty of fabric and just have to have it?  I saw this fabric back in March and just had to purchase them here.  It is the group of fabrics featured here for the QuiltCon Block Challenge.  To be honest I made the purchase because I just love Kona solids!  I get really excited working with solids and almost every piece I have made has been mixed with florals or some other type print.  Not this time...I don't really know what I am making, but here is the beginning of it!

Cut and sewed these strips!  I just love the colors, don't you?

This is on my table...now what to make of it?  Oh, I finally found that EZ Dresden ruler!

More Farmer's Wife blocks

Was I on a blogging vacation?  No, not really and I do have a bunch of pictures to share...stories of moving kids ... I mean to say college people into their dorms.  There is a story of a 500+ miles journey to help my son move into his dorm!  I could talk about how he didn't like the height of his bed and how it took two attempts by a very handy freshman to hammer out the....well you get the gist of it!  How about sharing story and pictures of our weekend in Williamsburg; how I marched in a Fife and Drum procession...marching????  Yep, marching.  Oh I've another story of moving darling daughter- a college junior- single handed into her dorm....lol.  That's a good one...poor girl did all the work because her brother was already starting his freshman year and other darling sister was at work!  Yep, this year brought about lots of changes, the most significant of all is that this is now an empty house!!!!  I know I should be happy, but I am missing my babies!  Anyhoo, I am not going to tell you about all of that.

This is a post about working on more of the Farmer's Wife's blocks!  This book

Here is a picture of the blocks that I made over the summer.

later I will post a better picture as this one doesn't reflect the beautiful, wonderful colors of Kaffe Fassett's fabrics!   Most of these blocks were paper pieced. I used EQ7 to draw the blocks and then printed the paper piecing blocks.  Oh the ease of paper piecing!  Love it.  Donna also drew and printed out paper pieced blocks and was able to share them using the Quilt Pro System.  I still cannot figure out how to transfer my EQ7 blocks to PDFs...I am sure it is a matter of me not reading!!!!  Thanks to Donna for hosting our Quilt Along group.  If you are interested in reading more, just hop on over to Donna's blog!  for information on the Farmer's Wife Sample Quilt Along just click on the page listed at the top of her blog...Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt Along!!!
